Unfortunately the Roku does not allow you to change the DNS settings on the device itself, therefore something else needs to connect to our MyTelly service and then share that connection with the device.

An easy method would be to configure our services on a router. This allows the router to connect directly to our network and any device connected to the router, such as your Roku, will automatically connect to our network.

Connecting via MyTelly

To configure your router with MyTelly (Smart DNS), kindly follow one of the guides below for the appropriate router brand.

Setup MyTelly for TP-Link Router

Setup MyTelly for Asus Router

Setup MyTelly for Netduma R1 Router

Setup MyTelly for D-Link Router

Setup MyTelly for Netgear Router

Setup MyTelly for Mikrotik Router

Setup MyTelly for DD-WRT Router

Setup MyTelly for Sabai Router

Setup MyTelly for Tomato (Shibby) Router

Setup MyTelly for OpenWRT Router

Once you’ve successfully connected to MyTelly with your router, all that’s left is to connect your Roku to the same network as the router and you’re done!

However, if you’d like to configure our VPN instead on your router, please follow our guide below.

What Next?

Now that you’ve got a successful VPN running through your Roku device, you’re probably thinking of downloading some restricted TV apps for it. This is the second most important step as the Roku only displays apps locally available based on your IP address and where your Roku account was created from.

So if your Roku account was created in France for example, you’ll basically not be able to see any other apps other than the French ones. If you’re interested to download U.S or U.K apps for your Roku, kindly refer to one of our guides below.

Any Problems?

Unfortunately it doesn’t always go to plan!

If you would like more information on the router option first before giving it a try or if you need any assistance at all, please send an email to [email protected] and we will do our best to assist you.
